ChatGPT is able to respond to queries with a short paragraph that looks like it was written by a human. This technology, along with other "generative" AI systems like GPT-3, have sparked a race to find new applications for the technology, such as writing code, creating images and videos, and suggesting new ideas for drugs. Microsoft's recent investment in OpenAI has solidified the technology's central role in the next phase of the AI revolution.
Member of Congress reads AI-generated speech on House floor - US Representative Jake Auchincloss delivered a speech on a bill that would create a U.S.-Israel artificial intelligence center that was generated by the AI chatbot ChatGPT on the floor of the US House, this is the first time an AI-written speech was read in Congress. The bill would establish a joint U.S.-Israel AI Center in the United States to serve as a hub for AI research and development in the public, private and education sectors.
